OMG!!!
Why did all those instructions sound like a foreign language to me? The order in which we were directed to follow seemed a bit jumbled. Thank goodness for Janie and Mary who suggested creating the community, adding in your details and then sending out the invitation to the community. (Yes, all the community invites were getting annoying...lol!)
I realize that you should have a good enough grasp on these tool such as google docs and sync sessions in order to facilitate them. I am happy for the practice and will continue to do more.

Trust Online?
How many of us have a problem trusting the people we are around almost everyday? How much more difficult is it to trust someone in an online community?
I've genuinely been the type of person that gives others the benefit of the doubt before passing judgement. I usually trust someone right away and have to later on change my mind...lol!
In order to gain trust, you must be a trustworthy person. You must show others that you are sincere, genuine and honest. In most cases, those same qualities will be shown back.

Communication
How many relationships do you know of that was ruined because of poor communication? I think sometimes we underestimate just how powerful words can be.
Whether its online or face to face, choice of words should be key in effective communication. I've always said to people that I have a bit of a communication problem. This often is evident in face to face conversations. Most of the time, the content that I try to bring across is fine. However, the tone or manner in which is delivered causes issues...especially in "hot conversations".
I am finding that communicating online is better for me. I am able to work with my words longer and better to make sure that the intended message is relayed. Through this, it is slowly improving my face to face communications.
hmm....this will be interesting!

Tutors disappointing....
I am a bit disappointed in the fact that only 3 people from the entire group has joined the correct forum. I thought we were all motivated to go forth. Are they confused about the right community? Are they just too busy?
I must admit, its been crazy for me too. I'm trying to keep up with this course and maintain the rest of my life. This is how it will be when we actually become tutors.
I am learning more and more with each activity. I recognize mostly though, the importance of good communication skills in order to be a good tutor. You must not assume anything and must look at the students as individuals just like yourself.

CCTI Tutors Session
I am excited about the entire INSPIRE project facilitated by the Ministry of Education and what it means for education in The Bahamas.
This tutors course is going to be quite an adventure! During the two day sessions, it was interesting to see how many tasks a Tutor has to perform and it makes me appreciate my tutors even more. Time management and good social skills will be pivotal for this to succeed.
Even though I don't like being away from my classroom and my students, I am glad that I took part in these sessions.

Welcome to my Blog!
I am so excited to see how technology is making teaching and learning more efficient and fun! I do recognize that the equipment within itself cannot make the difference. It is the well trained, well supported and equipped teacher that brings about this change. I strongly believe that the right tools given to a motivated teacher can bring about endless possibilities.
I am constantly researching and testing new technologies within my classroom. Whatever I find, I try to share them with my colleagues. Sparks can ignite a fire. I am pleased with the motivation around my school that seems to be spreading.
This blog will serve multiple purposes. Firstly, I will use this as a tool to share anything new or sometimes old information and tools to enhance teaching and learning. Secondly, As I am also enrolled in the CCTI Tutors course, I will also use this blog to share my reflections.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope that you will enjoy my blogs!
